On Wednesday, The Drums made their way to the Las Vegas desert with their Brutalism tour.
Waiting in anticipation for days, the crowds piled into the Brooklyn Bowl and filled the house with a pure kind of energy. Rocking a variety of different variations of the Drums and beach goth merch, the Vegas fans came with a wild spirit for the band. Bringing along the always cute CHAI as their opening act all the way from Japan, the night was one for the books.
Bringing a vintage, new wave sound to beach pop, the Drums had the crowd dancing vigorously amidst the incredibly dense general admission floor.
From above, the crowd was a beautiful, moving wave of bodies that went to the beat of every song from the Drums discography. People clashed and made the rafters shake. Infectious in nature, the energy from Jonny Pierce’s perfected stage presence conducted an atmosphere that the fans will never forget. Wonderful and pure, the crowd brought down the house.
“This has been amazing stop on our tour. Tonight has been a blast. Thank you, Las Vegas.”
The Drums previously played here during the Life Is Beautiful Festival back in September 2018, and kept to their promise of returning. The band packed out the Huntridge stage, and while it was a small stage, the performance held up in the smaller, outdoor setting.
This performance was nothing but pure energy.
Playing songs from their earlier works all the way to their latest releases, The Drums came to impress. As their tour winds down to the close, it’s still worth it to see them on ANY tour. The Drums put on a fantastic performance. Be sure to bring your best outfit and a decent pair of dancing shoes.
